The Distribution Centre in Belvedere serves South East England for Lidl. The project required 10,000m2 of standing seam to be removed and replaced along with 2600 linear metres of Filon roof lights. Approximately 20 linear metres of existing roof was cut away from the existing sheeting. The internal vapour control layer was then resealed with new clips installed and a new aluminium standing seam sheet installed. This end lap was then welded for robust detailing.
The roof lights were specified as Filon CEDR24E outer skin providing a class B non-Fragility for an expected period of 25 years. The longest roof lights installed were 118 linear metres.
The works were successfully carried out and completed whilst the building remained operational with no disruption to the day to day operations.
